Pharmacists and student pharmacists will be involved in providing medical care during a state of emergency or martial law: government decree

The Regulation determines that it will be possible to engage in the provision of medical care for the period of quarantine, emergency, state of emergency or martial law:

  • physician interns;
  • doctors-specialists and junior specialists with medical education without requirements for attestation for assignment or confirmation of qualification category;
  • pharmacists;
  • senior students in specialties “Medicine”, “Nursing”, “Dentistry”, “Technologies of medical diagnostics and treatment”, “Medical psychology”, “Pharmacy, industrial pharmacy” (specialization “Pharmacy”), “Therapy and rehabilitation”, “Pediatrics” knowledge area “Health care”.

The resolution also establishes the need for health authorities to determine the additional need for personnel arising during the period of quarantine, emergency, state of emergency or martial law.

The mechanism and specifics of engaging each of the above-mentioned categories of persons to provide medical assistance in health care institutions have now been defined, in particular through business trips, civil law or employment contracts and sending higher education applicants for industrial practice.

Note that for each category of persons involved in the provision of medical care, the duties that may be performed and the conditions for their fulfillment are established.

Thus, thanks to the adopted changes, it will be possible to meet the additional need for personnel arising during the period of quarantine, emergency, state of emergency or martial law. In addition, the involvement of more physicians in the provision of medical care will ensure completeness, timeliness and continuity for patients.
