The Cabinet of Ministers has dismissed two deputy health ministers. What was the reason?

At the end of 2023 there were personnel changes in the Ministry of Health. At the government meeting on December 23, two deputy ministers of the Ministry of Health were dismissed. Bohdan Borukhovskyy and Aleksei Yaremenko became vacant.

What is known about the officials?

Bohdan Borukhovskyi – Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine, responsible for the development of medical infrastructure

  • In 2001, he graduated from Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University and qualified as a philologist.
  • In 2004, he completed his studies at the Kyiv National Economic University and received a Master’s degree in Business Economics.
  • From 2009 to 2010, he was educated at Kyiv Mohyla Business School under the MBA program.
  • From 2004 to 2016 he was trained in short-term training programs in the USA, Estonia, Israel, Netherlands, Singapore and Ukraine in project management, economics, human resource management and finance.

From November 2016 to July 2020, he worked as the head of Ukrmedproektbud State Enterprise. The company acts as the customer for construction projects in the healthcare sector, including the construction of the Okhmatdet NDSB.

In July 2020, he was appointed First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine.

In December 2021, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine. In December 2018, he was even awarded the Certificate of Honor of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine for his significant personal contribution to ensuring the development of health care.

Alexey Yaremenko – Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine for European Integration

Born October 26, 1983.

–   Master’s degree in International Law, Institute of International Relations, Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University;
–   Master’s degree in Administrative Management, Institute of Personnel Training of the State Employment Service of Ukraine;
–   Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Institute of International Relations, Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University.

Since 2007, she has worked in the health field, particularly in the HIV Services Reform in Action Project and  USAID’s Supporting Health Reform Project

She has 16 years of experience in health policy formation and management and 5 years of experience managing and providing technical assistance in the implementation of health care reform, including health care financing and management.
