“The MoH is closely following the steps of the World Health Organization and the European Union aimed at the introduction of so-called digital vaccination certificates. Today, work continues on the formation of the legal framework, description of technical and functional requirements for documents, as well as ways to confirm their authenticity. Certificates will simplify the crossing of borders by citizens”, – commented Yaroslav Kucher.
The deputy minister also said that already this month there will be extended consultations with the specialists of the European Commission, during which the experts will be able to clarify and synchronize the technical issues, which the European countries are preparing to implement.
As we wrote, Ukraine plans to develop its own system of “vaccination passports” against COVID-19. The supply of vaccines against COVID-19 and the possibility of introducing “vaccination passports” were discussed at a conference call on preventing the spread of coronavirus disease, which was chaired by Volodymyr Zelenskyy in late March.
“These “passports” are already being developed by the countries of the European Union, the United States, Switzerland and Israel – that is, many developed countries that are actively working to create collective immunity against coronavirus. We, too, need to develop our own system of appropriate “passportization”, as well as to curb the spread of coronavirus disease it is necessary to cover 70% of the adult population with vaccinations against COVID-19,” the President stressed.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mikhail Fedorov explained that the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Digital Transformation have been monitoring the quality of data in the register of vaccinated people from the very beginning. This will help display “vaccination passports” when needed.
