Iryna Kondratova is a pediatrician and neonatologist. She is the Head of the Kharkiv Regional Perinatal Center, Associate Professor of the Department of Pediatrics No. 1, Candidate of Medical Sciences, and a doctor of the highest category.
She was included in the ranking of the 100 most influential women in the world according to WWC who inspired in 2022.
“Despite the heavy shelling, Dr. Iryna Kondratova and her team continued to tirelessly care for pregnant women, newborns and mothers at the Kharkiv Regional Perinatal Center. They set up a maternity ward in the basement of the hospital and risked their lives to stay with the babies in the intensive care unit, who could not be moved even when air raid sirens were sounding.
As head of the center, Dr. Kondratova was granted access to manage David Beckham’s Instagram page for a day in March to highlight the challenges they face. Since 2014, her team has provided medical and psychological support to more than 3,000 women in Luhansk and Donetsk. “Our homes, roads, power plants, hospitals – and lives – have been destroyed. But our dreams, our hopes and our faith are alive and stronger than ever,” the BBC wrote about the doctor.
