Women with a medical or pharmaceutical education must register for military service from October 1, 2023. Doctors and pharmacists will also acquire the status of persons liable for military service, for whom travel abroad is restricted. This was stated by Fedir Venislavsky, a member of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, the President’s representative in the Rada, in a commentary to RBC-Ukraine.
We would like to remind you that last year, members of the Verkhovna Rada amended Article 1 of the law on mobilization training and mobilization to provide that women with medical or pharmaceutical education should be registered for mandatory military service.
According to him, to implement this law, the Cabinet of Ministers issued a resolution on the procedure for military registration. And the Ministry of Defense issued an order on military registration of women. According to this order, it is stipulated that starting from October 1, women with medical or pharmaceutical education must register for military service.
The deputy also added that all other women who have military-registered specialties related to military affairs can register voluntarily from the same date. At the same time, there are no plans to expand the list of specialties for women who must register.
