Competitive advantage

The GDP standard – Good Distribution Practice – implies a unified approach to the organizational process of selling medicines, adopted in the EU and recommended by WHO. A certificate of compliance with the requirements of good distribution practice is essentially a guarantee that the quality assurance of medicines all the way from the manufacturer to the retail network and medical institutions complies with international requirements. By the way, not many companies in Ukraine were able to confirm it: only 17 out of 629 wholesale and import licensees have GDP certificates. Delta Medical is among them. And now it is an undoubted competitive advantage of the company. – We have been carefully preparing for obtaining the certificate of good distribution practice since 2013, – says Larisa Danilova, Director of Warehouse Department of Delta Medical. – This is despite the fact that our company was one of the first in the pharmaceutical market of Ukraine to work in compliance with European standards. We are constantly auditing and improving the processes of purchasing, storage, sales and transportation of products, the quality of which is paramount to us. For example, the control of transportation conditions implemented in Delta Medical is recognized by the auditors of the State Service of Ukraine as one of the best in the country.

Modern warehouse logistics technologies

The company thoroughly analyzed all working processes and made some changes. Most of them are related to optimizing inventory and increasing the capacity of the warehouse. Two assembly lines have already been installed using gravity racks and passive roller conveyors. The lines will be automated in the next six months. It is also planned to use a new WMS warehouse management system and transportation logistics software. These innovations will reduce the cost of resources for management and increase the transparency of warehouse operations, which will have a positive impact on the service component of Delta Medical’s work with our strategic partners – pharmacies.

Reputation and trust rating grows

The availability of the GDP certificate has had a positive impact on the responsibility of employees regardless of their functional duties. Everyone is enthusiastic, because to promote European standards in our country is a sign that the company is in the trend, keeping up with the times and even in some ways ahead of it. Besides, Delta Medical’s reputation in the market is improving – the company will be considered as a worthy and reliable partner by both manufacturers of innovative drugs and pharmacies. – As of today, the number of our customers has tripled compared to the beginning of 2019, and the frequency of their service has doubled, – says Larisa Danilova. – We are extremely attentive to each client: Delta Medical cooperates with everyone who knows and appreciates the company’s products.

In 2016, Delta Medical received a certificate of compliance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 (confirmed in 2018) and a certificate of compliance with the quality management system DSTU EN ISO 13485:2015.
