US retailer Walgreens will sell creams, sprays and patches containing cannabioids in its 1,500 pharmacies in a number of US states: Oregon, Colorado, New Mexico, Kentucky, Tennessee, Vermont, South Carolina, Illinois and Indiana.
Earlier, CVS, a competitor of Walgreens, made a similar announcement. That company announced that cannabis-based products sell only some of its locations.
The active cannabis compounds, cannabioids (CBD), are among the non-psychoactive substances produced from the plant. Products based on them are becoming increasingly popular in the US and Canada.
